We have 2 youth groups: Barney’s Club for children aged 5-12yrs, and Apis Te for young people aged 12-16yrs.
Barney’s Club: 5-12yrs
This is a new youth group which opened in August 2015 for children in primary school. Barney’s Club is run by both the Anglican and Catholic Churches working together for the young people in our community.
The youth group will run each Thursday during schools terms. Registration opens at 3.30pm and pick-up is at 5.15pm. Each week we’ll play games, have a Bible lesson and craft, enjoy afternoon tea together and have lots of fun! We meet at St Paul’s Hall – 118 Lang St, Kurri. A gold coin donation is appreciated.
Barney’s Club takes its name from Saint Barnabas in the Bible. He was a follower of Jesus and a great encourager of other people. We’re also told that he was full of joy and the Holy Spirit. Our youth group is a place where young people can come have fun and be encouraged to love God.
All our adult helpers have current NSW Working With Children Checks.

Apis Te: 12-16yrs
This youth group normally meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month between 6pm-9pm. Apis Te is is run by the local Anglican churches in our area.
We meet at 6pm at St Paul’s Kurri, 118 Lang St. From there we travel to one of our neighbouring churches (usually East Maitland, Morpeth, Thornton-Beresfield or Raymond Terrace) or to the local movies, etc. We return to St Paul’s at 9pm. At all times, transport is provided by adults with current NSW Working With Children Checks. Alternatively, parents and carers can drive the youth to our meeting point.
Apis Te is Latin for Bee Yourself. We want our youth to have the chance to know that God loves each of us for who we are, within a safe community. We have fun, play games, share a meal and growth in faith in Jesus as our Lord and Saviour.
The cost is a gold coin donation per session. For more information please call Mthr Theresa 0408 762 651.
